Peter has built his reputation as a litigator who can be taken at his word. Amongst his clients and colleagues, Peter is regarded for his trustworthiness and practical approach to solving any legal dispute. Peter has extensive experience dealing with a variety of clients, from educational institutions and large corporations to individuals and small businesses.
Peter appreciates that sometimes clients are faced with a situation where they must react quickly, and as a result, they need an immediate response from their lawyer. Peter is known as a lawyer who is present for his clients and who can always be relied upon, particularly in times of crises.
As a litigator with over 30 years experience, Peter recognizes that resolving legal disputes can often be accomplished without the need for a courtroom. Peter has considerable experience representing clients at mediations and arbitrations at various tribunals and boards, as well as negotiating on behalf of his clients throughout the legal dispute.
Peter has limited his specialized areas of practice to construction, employment, and education law.
In construction related matters, Peter represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, project managers and consultants. Peter’s practice includes all matters related to construction contracts, claims for lien, project management, trust claims and bonding issues. Peter has been recognized by his peers to be included in 2016 and 2017 as a BEST LAWYERS in Canada for Construction Law.
In his employment law practice, Peter represents both employers and employees in all employment law matters including employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, and consultant agreements. Peter provides advice on a number of matters including drafting of various workplace policies as well as termination of employment issues and all matters arising under the Employment Standards Act, Canada Labour Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Prior to obtaining his law degree at the University of Toronto, Peter attended McMaster University graduating with a Bachelor of Sciences degree, majoring in mathematics. Peter enjoys a round of golf now and then but is all too familiar with the Mark Twain quote “Golf is a good walk spoiled”.
