Welcoming Renee Roy to our Family Law Group

Ross & McBride is pleased to welcome Renee Roy as Associate Counsel to our Family Law practice.

“Renee is highly regarded among her peers as an accredited mediator, an adept negotiator, and a skilled litigator,” said Anandi Naipaul, a partner and Chair at Ross & McBride. “Like our firm, she has deep roots in Hamilton, and I’m happy to have her helping to build on our long legacy of serving this community.”

For nearly 20 years, Renee has been helping families make the hard decisions about their futures. She is well-equipped to support both parents and children in a range of legal matters including prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, adoptions, custody agreements, separations, or divorce.

As an active member of the legal community, Renee is a sought-after speaker and a member of several Boards and Committees. She is known for taking a common-sense approach to solving problems and for seeking amicable resolutions for her clients.

Renee is an accredited mediator with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation as a Child Protection Meditator and Family Mediator. She is also a member of the Hamilton Child Protection Bench and Bar Committee, and a panel member of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer and the Family Responsibility Office. When children are involved, these added credentials enable her to prioritize her clients’ emotional wellbeing by helping parents remain child-focused.

“Through this new collaboration with Ross & McBride, I’ll be able to help new clients protect their families’ futures,” explained Renee. “My existing clients will also benefit from the connection to an award-winning, full-service firm.”

“Family is an important facet of people’s lives, but it’s not the only one. I’m glad to be able to connect my clients with a network of lawyers who can assist them in other ways,” she continued.

Outside of her busy practice, Renee volunteers at legal training courses and facilitates settlement conferences across Southern Ontario on behalf of Legal Aid. Her extensive experience also includes acting as a Dispute Resolution Officer at the Hamilton Superior Court of Justice, sitting on the Hamilton Law Association’s Family Law Subcommittee, and being a member of the Alberta Bar, where she practiced from 2009-2011.

Please join us in giving Renee a warm welcome to the Ross & McBride team.
