Alora Fortino
Alora is an articling student at Ross & McBride, where she is enjoying the opportunity to be exposed to a range of practice areas and learn from accomplished lawyers at the firm. In her work, she places a high value on communication, precision, and client service. She’s a dedicated learner who loves to seek out new challenges. Her natural curiosity led her to pursue a career in law, and she has studied a number of academic areas ranging from sports law to law of armed conflict. Alora has a diverse educational background and, throughout her post-secondary career, has sought out experiences and volunteer opportunities that broaden her perspectives and support her growing skillset as a future lawyer. During her undergraduate studies at Western University, Alora developed her leadership and organizational skills as the President of the Political Science Association, spearheading a mentorship program, speakers’ events, election viewing parties and other initiatives. She also volunteered at the Cross-Cultural Learning Centre, where she worked with newly immigrated and refugee children through their arts program. While obtaining her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, she led communications for the Sports & Entertainment Law Society as the organization’s Vice President, and was an active peer mentor. During this time, she continued her volunteer work by collaborating with other law students to prepare and distribute meals to unhoused people in Ottawa as part of the Love the Unhoused program. Alora looks forward to building her legal practice in Hamilton, and becoming more involved in local causes and organizations.
