About
Shari Nathan is an associate in the Employment Law Group and Human Rights Law Group at Ross & McBride.
She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, where she graduated with a degree in Bioethics which was conferred with distinction. Having gained an in-depth understanding of how legal issues like discrimination, housing, and employment can be a social determinant of health, Shari pursued a law degree as a natural progression of her studies and personal interests. She went on to complete her Juris Doctor with the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law where she also applied her strong research and communication skills to writing for the university’s Journal of Law & Equality and the Ultra Vires student newspaper.
Through her studies, she delved into complex and important topics like reproductive health and medical ethics, with a strong focus on public health. During this time, she held a research position at Sick Kids Hospital centered on bioethics and worked with the St. Michael’s Hospital Justice Clinic as part of a team supporting low-income patients facing legal issues that affect their well-being.
Although her experiences and education have given her a keen interest in human rights issues and equal access to justice, she is excited to broaden her knowledge and gain new perspectives by working with the broad range of practice areas at Ross & McBride.
